Treatment
Physiotherapy is the treatment of a wide range of conditions and injuries to the body through the use of various forms of passive mobilisation, massage, electrotherapy and exercise.
The clinic has been established since 1990 and has specialised in the treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, such as back pain and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, joint pain and arthritis, muscle injuries, post surgery rehabilitation, and sports injuries.
The aim is to provide a personal and professional service that assists an optimal recovery. The first appointment thus involves a detailed assessment of your condition, so that a specific treatment programme can be designed. In addition the assessment is designed to discover the root cause of the problem, so that with advice on preventative measures, further episodes can be avoided.
The following conditions can be treated:
Muscle and Joint Injuries
Neck and Back Injuries including whiplash, disc problems, postural low back pain, headaches
Sports Injuries
Stress
The following techniques may be used:
Joint mobilisations – helps to restore normal mobility to joints, thereby reducing discomfort.
Soft tissue treatments – massage/ fascial release - help reduce the muscle spasm and improve the local circulation and lymphatic drainage.
Electrotherapy- is helpful in reducing pain and inflammation after injury
Personal exercise and rehabilitation programs - aim to return people to their work, sport and hobbies and teach exercises to prevent recurrence of the injury.
